4D Embryosonic Ultrasonography FAQ Can You Tell Me the Gender of My Baby? We can almost always tell you the gender of your baby, and this service is included in your scan if you request it. Sometimes it is difficult due to the baby's position, but our sonographers will try their best to determine the gender for you. If you do not want to know the gender of your baby, please let us know beforehand. We will keep it a surprise for you! Gender Determination: All sonographers are trained in determining gender and will give you their best opinion. All packages include gender determination; the sonographer will inform you of the baby's gender, if you like. Please be aware sometimes the baby may not be in a position to make a gender determination. Is Ultrasound Safe? Yes, Ultrasound has been used safely in obstetrics for over 35 years. In the 35 years of use in medicine, there has never been a harmful effect shown by the use of ultrasound. Many women have multiple ultrasounds during their pregnancy with no negative effect on the baby. Women who are having trouble with pregnancy may have as many as two or three ultrasounds per week late in the third trimester. Should I make an Appointment in Advance? Yes, Ultrasound Appointments should be made as soon as possible. Please call or visit our facility to schedule an appointment. Can I bring family members or friends with me? Yes, we welcome your children, family and friends. Our facilities can accommodate up to six guests and they will be able to watch the session on a large flat-screen monitor. Who will perform my Imaging Scan? Your scan will be performed by a registered sonographer (RDMS) with experience in obstetrics who has been specially trained in 3D and 4D ultrasound. Do I need to do anything special before coming in for my session? No. Eat and drink as normal. You will want to wear comfortable clothing that is 2 pieces (top and bottom) so that you don't have to get undressed for your session. What is the best time for my Imaging scan? If you plan on having only one exam, we recommend that you schedule it between 24 and 34 weeks of pregnancy. It is during this time that your baby's facial features are filling out and developing and you can see the cute, chubby cheeks. However, we have obtained spectacular photos as early as 19 weeks and as late as 36 weeks. Many women choose to come in for multiple sessions and therefore may come in earlier or later in their pregnancy and take advantage of our multiple session discounts. Parent and Physician Understanding: We inform both parents and their doctors that services offered are NOT conducted for diagnostic purposes. We provide forms for parents and physicians/midwives for signing, thus providing clear written statements of the services offered by Snow Canyon Ultrasound. Potential clients are encouraged to consult their doctors about the procedure and its assumed risks. Having Twins? All prices remain the same for twins. If you are having twins, we recommend you come in between your 19th to 25th week! |
