Insomnia Most people complain at some point in their lives of being unable to sleep. Simple sleeplessness, or insomnia, typically results from stress or changes in diet or environment. Most forms of insomnia do not require medical intervention and can be dealt with by observing proper sleep hygiene (see our "11 Tips for Better Sleep"). Some cases, however, may require the involvement of a physician trained in sleep and sleep disorders.
