Multiple
Sleep Latency Test (MSLT)
Southern Utah Neurological
and Neurodiagnostics requests the following of patients to ensure that
a quality polysomnography recording can be obtained:

Ensure that your hair is clean
and dry, and do not use any hair gels, dressings, or hairspray before the
test. Dirty hair or scalp can interfere with electrode sensitivity.

Do not consume beverages containing
caffeine for at least 24 hours before the test.

Do not consume alcohol at least
48 hours before the test.

Take your regular medications,
unless instructed otherwise by your doctor.

Do not use any form of sleeping
medication or sedative the night before the study.

Wear clothing that is comfortable
for sleeping.
